ATA 2016 Xmas Appeal
To round 2016 off after seeing how tennis donations have impacted the youths of Ghana and the Caribbean in such a positive way, under the glowing spell of the Christmas goodwill season, we'd have one last declutter of tennis donations that were much better off going to people who need them much more than us after the Christmas season...so here's thanks to the following supporters who donated their unwanted tennis treasures....
As as ever the most supportive of donars to ATA over the years, London 2012 Olympics Games Maker Sandra Yeoh rounded up unwanted sports clothing, tennis rackets, bags, shoes, tennis balls and books from members of David Lloyd Leisure Club Raynes Park to be sent to children in Ghana.
Also thanks to UK Charity Tennis For Free Merton - Joseph Hood Rec for donating 12 new tennis rackets supplied by Wilson Tennis and Amer Sports Germany to the Xmas Appeal as well as UK tennis journalist April Todd for throwing in her unwanted rackets to go to potential future tennis players in Ghana.
Thanks to local tennisin' siblings Stefan and Joanna Osafo for trading in their family collection of tennis rackets, a tennis bag and Jo's own tennis shoes to aid their fellow Ghanaian counterparts for the Xmas appeal
Thank you once again to Kirsty Garrett and members of Sutton Churches Tennis Club over the years for their continued support and enthusiasm to the cause by once again donating unused tennis rackets for the Xmas 2016 Appeal. Club members donated 15 rackets post-Christmas aswell as collecting donations towards shipping costs so thank you for your help!
In total, the Xmas appeal resulted in donations of over 45 rackets, and unwanted clothes and books for the local school in Winneba, Ghana to be sent in the new year!
