Sutton Tennis Club and Academy donate to MOTIVATE AFRICA Tour

Great News!

Africa Tennis Aid's most supportive donors over the years, Sutton Churches Tennis Club once again answered the call for help in collecting donations for Sam Jalloh's MOTIVATE AFRICA TOUR 2021.

The tennis club, based in South West London, have always been enthused to help Africa Tennis Aid in the past by rounding up unused tennis rackets and equipment to aid participation of tennis in deprived African communities.

After lockdown lifted for tennis clubs to reopen to members again, new Head Coach Jake Carruthers too the cause to heart and rallied a 10 day round up collecting 18 tennis rackets, two tennis bags and unwanted clothing from generous members.

These rackets will be going with Sam in September on the first leg of his MOTIVATE AFRICA TOUR where he plans to visit 25 African countries. His mission in mind to educate and motivate African youths through the sport that saved his own life as a young man during the horrific civil war that ravaged his home country Sierra Leone in the early 1990's. An unused tennis racket may not mean much to us in the first world, but it could save a young person in the third world with limited opportunities and resources, Watch Sam's Story on BBC News
